The summer months in Helsinki are full of events and festivals, one of which is a very popular festival bringing live music to bars and restaurants, Art goes kapakka. One artist taking part last week was Carita Holmström, who sang the Finnish entry Keep me warm at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton in 1974. She took to the stage with Laura Sippola & Tuki on Friday, the 14th of August in Juttutupa.

The news that Tarkan will represent Turkey at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo has been strongly denied by his manager, Ulgar Atash. Tarkan yesterday told Sabah that a pre-agreement and musical arrangement had been agreed with TRT. The news was reported in several Turkish newspapers yesterday as well as the official Eurovision Song Contest website. Esctoday.com had an opportunity to talk exclusively to the winner of Finnish tango festival Tangomarkkinat, Amadeus Lundberg in Helsinki last week. While the 20-year-old artist performed to an excited night club crowd at Vanhan Kellari in central Helsinki last Thursday, he expressed doubts on whether he will accept the automatic place to be one of the 12 invited artists for the Finnish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 as offered by the Finnish national broadcaster YLE.

Further reports from Azerbaijan following Sunday's breaking news that 43 Azeri residents that voted for Armenia at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest had been questioned by the Ministry for National Security have come to light.
