There is an opinion that George W Bush is going to launch the so-called War on Copyright Infringement and he's pressing too hard to make file sharing and other ways of non-commercial copyrighted content distribution illegal. Supporters of freedom in the internet as they call themselves or people who refuse to pay for what they listen to or watch, as some people could call them, fire back.nn
Welcome to the United BitTorrents of America! This is the greeting on a new web-site http://www.bushtorrent.com. As could be seen from the domain name itself it is a web-site critisizing Bush for his position. The site consists of four pages - About Me, My Blog, Favorite Torrents and a Forum and is full of sarcastic collages, pictures and famous qoutations of the President. It is clear that this is another attack aiming at poking at Bush and teasing him. Now that the torrent supporters' first blow has been delivered, the most curious thing is the reaction of his Administration.nn
Back in 1998 when Zack Exley established the GWBush.com Anti-Bush site the Administration tried to shut it down and to buy the domain, as the site included covering of some controversial past biography facts. nn
The BushTorrent site looks somewhat similar - it contains commentaries on several political issues such as war in Iraq and (most of all) Copyright Infringement. The question is whether anything has changed and whether the founders of the new Anti-Bush site will be pursued just like Zack Exley was. We believe that the guys who run BushTorrent already have something to be sued of, namely running BitTorrent piracy sites TorrentReactor and TorrentAttack, U.S.C. TITLE 18, SECTION 2257 incompliant porn sites NuTorrent and TorrentChase and a torrent metasearch engine QuickHydra. http://www.trafficstatistic.com/news/news_item_641.html
